GENBOREE: THE OLYMPIC SCOUTING GAMES
Pomà, Spensley Park and Parco Canaisa are three areas very dipped in the nature, very near each other, attached to the country of San Desiderio (www.sandesiderio.com), only 8 km distant from the train station of Genova Brignole, you can reach it by the public bus (n° 86) in just 20 minutes.
In Pomà, a small village over San Desiderio with some houses and ten inhabitants, there are many spaces in the forest where camping. In the last years we have been cleaned up many areas gaining spaces for the camping (in this area could be accommodated until 150 scout at the same time). Very quickly we will create two outdoor baths and two showers for the users of the forest. On the area there is drinkable water and it is demanded one particular attention to the respect of the quiet of the inhabitants of the place.
The Spensley Park, is a great field in front of the parochial church of San Desiderio. It has been entitled to Spensley why lately it has accommodated scout events about sport themes (the Olympic Scouting Games) and James Richardson Spensley is able to incarnate the proposed values being man of sport (because founder of the soccer team Genoa C.F.C.), and scout (famous in Italy because he has joined the Gioiose of Mario Mazza in the R.E.I.). The field has been arranged creating three great levels wide 7 meters and long 60/70 meters (every level can accommodate 7/8 tents of 8/10 persons), has 4 outdoor baths and 4 showers, a space for the camp fire and an area dedicated to the construction of the kitchen, one small house to use as galley, one zone with tables and benches.
The Parco Canaisa is a public park, some hundred of meters under the Spensley Park. The area during the year often is used for the parties of the town, but in summer it is used as scout camp. In the flat zone, usually used for the parties, it can be accommodated until 60/70 persons. We have been cleaned up many wooded zones upper the area, creating an ulterior space for as many persons. At the moment there is drinkable water supply but baths and showers lack (next we will begin to build them).
